Soren (I actually liked the bro/sis more than everyone else even if their plotline was secondary. The one about her judging her reflection in the mirror and then being genuinely stunned that it looked like it was judging her back. Yaaaaaas, like erbody else I was worried it wouldnt get renewed and we wouldve been stuck having never seen the "magic" side of the world.ฤก. A great show that reinvigorated my interested in animated things. Overall this was like a 9/10 for me, with a half point taken off for the ending and a half point for the lower episode count that at times felt like it was taking away from general development (though it was still done well). I assumed they were going to get to the breach by the finale and return the egg or something so I was surprised when it hatched and they weren't there but hey, they'll get there next season maybe Idk, but there's definitely enough questions to keep me watching, not to mention I really enjoy the main story so I have to see where it goes. Like where is his wife/Claudia and Soren's mother? Or what happened to Ezran's mother? And what's the mirror set up to do? My prediction is something similar to the vanishing cabinet from Harry Potter or some sort of way to communicate with someone/something. I think there's a lot more we need to discover about him and the rest of the cast to really lock things down. Viren I liked more than I thought I would I don't think he's an amazing villain or anything but at least we had (seemingly) a motivation for his actions. I was assuming they were going to run into the others by the finale and the big ending moment being them. Like seriously Soren and Claudia spent the last 3 episodes traveling and not furthering any of their storylines which was mega disappointing. just felt like a to be continued? For a show the started off by saying book 1 ( that btw it really hit me this was designed in the vein of the avatar universe) I was expecting a more concrete resolution. I think this show came out of the gate swinging more than either show, imo. non ending? I loved the pacing of this season and honestly it was paced better than ATLA season 1 and LOK season 1 if we're comparing them, though with 9 episodes that's to be expected.
I think my biggest complaint at this point was that. I would say my cast ranking is probably similar to PGY's, though I'd swap Callum and Soren. Also by the end of this I really liked the animation and thought it was beautiful The characterization was very good and every character that got focus felt like they had a distinct personality/motivation that made them interesting to me. I loved the world building, especially at the start and I have no doubt that it will only continue to get better as we explore new areas. Ok so I finished this and I thought it was really good! My biggest non spoiler complaint is just that it felt too short Granted, there wasn't any filler at all during the 9 episodes but I just wished there was more.
